Probably the most famous mausoleum in Spring Grove Cemetery, the Dexter Mausoleum was designed by James Keys Wilson and built in 1869. It memorializes Edmund Dexter, who entertained Charles Dickens in 1842 and whose portrait hangs in the Cincinnati Art Museum. The structure has lost a few pinnacles over the years; not to mention it used to have a towering ornate steeple in the middle of the roof.
