The cellar where Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and his family were killed, 1918. "When the royal family and their servants went into the cellar, they had no idea that they were about to be shot. The bullets ricocheted off of them...The victims died a slow and agonizing death, and the girls who survived the bullets, were bayoneted until they died." It was later discovered that "18 pounds of the Romanov diamonds had been sewn into [the princesses'] undergarments, causing the bullets to ricochet."

Ethel Percy Andrus (1884-1967). In retirement in the mid-1940s, she became a champion of and advocate for the interests and needs of the elders in society after discovering a retired teacher forced by poverty to live in a chicken coop. Galvanized to action, in 1947, at age 63, she founded NRTA (then called the National Retired Teachers Association) and in 1958, at age 73, she founded AARP. Today, AARP is the largest nonprofit organization in the world, with 37 million members.

Isabella Lucy Bird (1831 – 1904) was a 19th century English explorer, writer and natural historian. Travelling widely in the USA, Asia, India, Australia and Canada, she rode on horseback (she was considered scandalous for not riding side-saddle!) for 800 miles through the Rocky Mountains and wrote a book about her experiences.

Around the 1920s, phonographs became more public than just personal home devices. Here, a customer at Loewy’s 1 cent arcade (14th street, New York) drops a cent in the slot to listen to a phonograph record. Not only did this increase the popularity of the phonograph, it also increased the size of the industry. In addition, what the man is using to listen to the record is a pair of small phonograph horns. These were then named "ear-trumpets" which set the model for modern headphones.

A nightlong deathwatch began. Nearly every leading doctor in Washington D.C. stopped by to offer help and assistance. A large crowd gathered outside in front of the Petersen House. The president's breathing grew fainter; although the doctors felt an average man with this kind of wound would die within two hours, Mr. Lincoln lasted for nine. He passed away the next morning at 7:22 A.M. + 10 seconds, April 15th, 1865. Mrs. Lincoln was informed, "It is all over. The president is no more!"

Four members of the Manson family, plus two more and Manson himself, went out for another round of killings. The rode out to the home of supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. They wrote "Helter Skelter" on the wall in blood. The couple was stabbed multiple times, just like the victims of the previous night. In all, the Manson Family had murdered nine people in the span of just a couple months.

Tate Murder Spree On July 25, 1969, Manson ordered Mary Brunner, along with Family members Bobby Beausoleil and Susan Atkins, to the house of Manson's acquaintance, Gary Hinman, to force him to hand over $21,000 he had inherited. The Family held him hostage in his home for two days before Manson arrived and gave the order to murder him. They drew Black Panther slogans and signs on the walls in blood to implicate the group in the murder.
