May 12 1932, the decomposed and animal-eaten body of Lindbergh's son is discovered by truck driver William Allen, about two miles from the family home. Cause of death was apparently a fractured skull, and Lindbergh identified the body though a birth defect of one of the toes. The aviator ordered the body cremated, without a full autopsy.

Mount Hekla: Iceland's particularly active volcano developed a reputation as a gateway to Hell in the 12th century, after its 1104 eruption. Benedeit's 1120 Anglo-Norman poem Voyage of St. Brendan mentions the volcano as the prison of Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus. That reputation continued with further eruptions; after the 1341 eruption, there was a report that people saw birds flying amidst the fire—birds, some thought, that must really be swarming souls. "Colonel Chivington before he ordered the raid on the Cheyenne peacefully assembled at Sand Creek in Colorado was quoted as saying: "Kill and scalp all, big and little; nits make lice." Chivington, who commanded the attacking force, was a Methodist minister and avid anti-slavery crusader. After the massacre he proudly displayed over 100 scalps and scalps of female pubic hair to audiences who gathered to hear him talk about his exploits."

Do you know the ghost story about Liberace and the Pittsburgh hospital that saved his life in 1963? He basically collapsed on stage of poisoning from the chemicals used to clean his costumes. While hospitalized near death at St. Francis Hospital he had a "visit" from a nun no one could identify. Liberace's life was saved by an early use of dialysis and he remained a benefactor of the hospital until his death in 1987.
