  • Feodor Vassilyev (c. 1707[1]-1782) was a peasant from Shuya, Russia. His first wife, Mrs. Vassilyev sets the record for most children birthed by a single woman. She gave birth to a total of 69 children; however, few other details are known of her life, such as her date of birth or death. She gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets between 1725 and 1765, in a total of 27 births. 67 of the 69 children born are said to have survived infancy
  • Sampson, a Shire horse gelding foaled in 1846 in Toddington Mills, Bedfordshire, England, is the tallest horse ever recorded. Sampson, owned by Mr Thomas Cleaver, stood 21.2½ hands high (i.e. 7 ft 2½in or approx 2.2m at his withers) by the time he was a four year old, when he was re-named Mammoth. His peak weight was estimated at 3,360 lb (1,520 kg).[

  • An East German soldier helping a boy cross the newly formed ‘Berlin Wall,’ 1961. The boy was found on the opposite side of the wall from his family. Despite given orders by the East German government to let no one pass, the soldier helped the boy through the barbwire.
  • Anna Mae Dickinson was eight when she lost her father and narrowly escaped death herself on the Titanic. She was 11 when she lost her Aunt Olivia in the torpedoing of the Lusitania. She was 31 when she lost her first cousin Alfred in the Hindenberg explosion. She was 37 when she lost her nephew Thomas in the bombing of Pearl Harbor.And she was 97 when her tiny apartment was shaken and battered by the collapse of the twin towers on Sept 11, 2001 and blessed by God to have survived through it all.
