Jennie Wade, staying at her sister's house on the north slope of Cemetery Hill, was accidentally killed by a bullet fired by a Confederate skirmisher. She was in the process of preparing bread for Union skirmishers stationed nearby the house when the errant bullet passed through two doors striking her in the back. She died instantly and despite the 50,000+ military casualties in the battle of Gettysburg, Jennie was the only civilian killed.

This Bronze Age, 374 feet (110 m) long, 3000 year old, man-made, prehistoric Hill Figure Figure is located in Uffington England. The figure is deeply carved onto the hillside and packed with white chalk. Traditionally the figure was religiously ‘scoured’ every 7 years by the local community removing all weeds and encroaching vegetation thereby maintaining its pristine silhouette for three eons. It can only be made out from the sky and the reason for its existence is pure speculation.

At approximately 1:15 pm, as Officer Tippit cruised down Tenth Street just past Patton Avenue, he spied a man who resembled the suspect in the president’s assassination. J.D. stopped the car and had a short conversation through the passenger window. Officer Tippit exited the squad car. Harvey Oswald shot him four times at point blank range, killing the dedicated law enforcement professional.
