Scott’s Hut, Ross Island Built in 1911 by explorer Robert Falcon Scott and his men. Reused in 1915-1917 by stranded sailors in Ernest Shackleron's party. Abandoned and untouched until 1956, when it was dug out of the ice. It has remained virtually untouched since Shackleton locked it up in 1917, and is well preserved, thanks to the cold. All the old supplies and equipment are just as they were left by various explorers.
